Thank you for choosing CORE by D!
This page will help you get started with setup, training, and inspiration for your horse.
Why CORE by D?
CORE by D was created to make core training a natural part of everyday riding.
Rather than using a specialist device only on certain occasions, we wanted to create a saddle pad riders would genuinely enjoy using every day. By combining an elegant saddle pad with an elastic training-band system, CORE by D makes it easy to incorporate targeted core training into regular work, lunging, pole exercises, groundwork, and rehabilitation programmes carried out in consultation with a veterinarian.
Research suggests that elastic training bands can increase activation of important core muscles, improve dynamic stability of the back, and support movement symmetry when used as part of an appropriate training programme.
The principle is simple. The bands provide a gentle proprioceptive cue that encourages the horse to engage its core and hindquarters voluntarily, without forcing a frame or posture.
Founder’s Perspective
“Elastic training bands are a training tool in equestrian sport, where there exist real, but somewhat limited, peer-reviewed research to point to. We built CORE by D because we wanted something that fit into daily routines, a saddle pad a rider would actually want to use, not a specialist device that only comes out when there’s a problem. The bands help the horse find the right movement, without forcing it. The horse stays in charge of how it responds.”
